I was born in 1972 in Greece, where I grew up and completed there an HND degree at Vacalo School of graphic design and applied arts where I studied mainly fine art drawing and painting, but also History of art, graphic art and jewelry design.
In 1993 I went to London to enroll to the second year of a BA degree in Design Studies.
Then, after the completion of my BA, I followed a printmaking course for one year, working at the same time and started to flirt with computers, as I had never used one before. During my learning of Photoshop usage, I started to build my portfolio in order to apply for an MA. The area that emerged as my major interest was image making.
As I found out I enjoyed bringing together all that I had being learning all these years through Photoshop and 3D application programs. I decided then to follow a postgraduate degree (MA) in Communication Design in Central Saint Martins College in London.
My area of focus was illustration. And I started to pursue clients with my portfolio and eventually started to get my first commissions for magazines. The beginning was extremely slow but eventually took off. Through my experience acquired from each job I was getting more and more into the freelancing business of an image maker/illustrator.
Some of the clients that I have worked for include: New Scientist magazine, National Geographic magazine,ATI Technologies, BBC magazines, BT (British Telecom) (animation), Channel 4 (animation) Welcome Trust (Glaxo-Welcome-research arm), Macmillan Publications, The Arts Council England(installation/animation), various magazines from England and Europe in general and some in the United States, and still building a worldwide clientele.
nowdays I live and work in Athens..(thank god for the internet!!)
a bit handy for getting the most out of the weather+the sea(compare to London..) :-)
